There are dark goings-on in rural Britain or at least there are if you hang out with these authors. Between the hedgerows and on the moors lurk suspicious loners, rogue gunmen, badger-baiters and unhinged gamekeepers. No surprise then that life can be perilous for the farmers and country folk who share their homeland with these dangerous misfits.
