Where are physical vouchers sent?
The physical vouchers will be sent to the delivery address entered during checkout.
This is not the address that the subscription books will be posted to. The recipient will be asked for their delivery information when they fill out their questionnaire.
Where are digital vouchers sent?
The digital vouchers are sent directly to the purchaser once payment has been completed. This means they can forward it to the right person at the right time, and we aren't ruining surprises by automatically emailing something before it should arrive.
As a note, if you choose the option of a physical voucher, you will still receive a backup digital voucher as well. The digital copy will arrive in your inbox along with your order confirmation.
I’d like to give a Reading Subscription as a gift. What details will I need to give you?
At the time of purchase we’ll just need your name, the recipient’s name and, in order to price the subscription correctly, the country to which the books will be sent.
You do not need to give us any information about the recipient’s reading tastes or delivery information for the books. The voucher will have a prompt for the gift recipient to get in touch with us to let us know all about their specific reading tastes, delivery address for the books etc.
Do you offer a Reading Subscription for children?
For younger bookworms, our Reading Clubs are THE clubs to subscribe to! Picture Book Pioneers is aimed at readers aged 2-5 and The Torchlit Tales Society is for readers aged 8-11. More detailed descriptions of both Clubs can be found on our 'Reading Gifts' page under 'Reading Clubs'.
I’ve received a Reading Subscription. How do you choose books to suit my reading tastes?
On our Mr B’s Reading Subscription voucher, we ask you to get in touch with us to answer a few questions about your reading tastes and preferences. There is an online questionnaire you can complete (ca. 10 min), or we can talk you through this same questionnaire by phone or in the shop. Using your answers, we then build a picture of the kind of books you enjoy, and identify which member of Team B is best suited to be your bibliotherapist.
Your bibliotherapist will go on to review your questionnaire responses (along with any feedback we’ve received from you) each month, and will pick titles for you based on this information. We aim to stay in touch with you throughout the subscription and invite you to let us know how you’re getting on with your books so that we can continue to tailor our choices to your tastes as best as possible.

When will I receive my books?
Once you have completed your Reading Subscription questionnaire, your book will arrive at the beginning of the following month, with the exception of January (when we assume you will still be reading your Christmas stack, and so we do not send out a book the first month of the new year). If your book has not turned up by the middle of the month however, do email us and we will track down your book.
What happens if I’ve already read the book that you send me?
We offer a teaser service which means that we can email you (or a friend/partner) in advance with a clue about the book that we’ve chosen for you (usually the author’s name) to avoid your receiving anything you’ve already read. We also try our best to pick new or unusual books that we think you might not have come across before. However, if you do receive a book that you’ve already read, please let us know on firstname.lastname@example.org. You are welcome to return the book to us and we will send out a replacement.
What if my book tastes or contact details have changed since the questionnaire?
If you would like to update your preferences or change anything about the kind of books that we send you, please give us a call or send us an email at email@example.com. Similarly, if you need to change the address to which we are sending the books, do let us know as soon as possible so that no book goes astray!
