Description

Join best friends Henri and Miko for autumn festivities in the wooded village of Bosk Olivette in an enchanting picture book series from New York Times-bestselling illustrator Rebecca Green.

Beyond the Phelps County Orchard, in a stretch of woods known as Bosk Olivette, at the bottom of a lone black maple, you’ll discover a cider press. But not just any cider press… Welcome to the home of Henri and Miko!

Henri the mouse and Miko the bee adore autumn. From the glow of the harvest moon to cinnamon doughnuts to jumping in ruby red leaves, there is so much to celebrate. And celebrate they do. They might even share a scare or two!

The pair spend their days building leaf forts, picking apples and reading spooky stories, but Henri and Miko never forget to delight in their favourite time of all: time with friends. Together, it surely will be an autumn to remember.

Publisher Review

What a wonderful book! Just like Henri, I also wish I could freeze time and have it always be autumn. The illustrations are gorgeous, cozy and so autumnal and I loved the adventures Henri and Miko live in autumn. A wonderful book to read with children, including some poetry and even recipes (can't wait to try it!) * NetGalley Reviewer * A tribute to autumn/fall, serenity, slow life and friendships. It has classic children's books vibes and this suits the setting. Spooky season and falling leaves are celebrated with friends. Henri and Miko are different but they complement each other and have a lovely community. * NetGalley Reviewer * What really elevates this book for me is its mixed-media approach. With comic panels, poems, seek-and-find activities, drawing, recipes, scrapbook inspiration and a beautiful gatefold cross-section, there is so much here to explore that it genuinely becomes a whole little world rather than simply a book. I can see children getting good use out of every aspect, whether they are reading, creating, searching or simply enjoying the illustrations. The artwork is absolutely gorgeous, with richly detailed woodland scenes and a beautiful dollhouse-like quality that makes every page feel inviting. Honestly, I would happily have so many of these images on my walls. Henri and Miko is a wonderful celebration of friendship, imagination, creativity and those tiny seasonal pleasures that make childhood feel so special. It has that lovely nostalgic quality that will appeal to adults as much as children, while still feeling playful and engaging for its intended audience. A gorgeous little world to get lost in, and one that reminds us to slow down, enjoy the season and treasure time with friends. * NetGalley Reviewer *
