The Collected Toppi Vol. 2
Mr B's review
Nothing but the hard copy of Sergio Toppi’s work can do justice to his artistry. Amalgamating black and white ink drawings with coloured sequential art, this is a collection of short stories perfect for people who have loved subject matter such as Joe Sacco’s ‘Paying the Land’, the reverential language of Gaiman’s ‘Sandman’, or just some straight up phenomenal artwork with some gut punch stories. Beautifully produced with rounded hardback edges and illustrated end pages, this is also one of those perfect gift graphic novels.
Presenting the second in a seven-volume library of works by master illustrator Sergio Toppi. The second volume, North America, contains eleven tales set in historical periods within the early United States, Canada, and Alaska, all presented in English for the first time, previously collected as Colt Frontier, Naugatuck 1757, and Blues.
