'100 Greatest Cycling Climbs' is one of those books that you always thought existed, but didn't. The panoply of UK cycling ephemera is greatly enhanced with its release, and while not so lavish a production as the recent road climbs of the Pyrenees from rapha, it is just as necessary an addition to the bookcase. Mr Warren is to be applauded for his obsessive work, and the publishers congratulated for their faith. There is actually a book with 'great' and 'cycle climbs' together on the cover. I'm a great believer of free press and all that, but this one should be top of the list for spreading such silly ideas. He must have meant it in the'most hellish' sense. Oh all right, not really. For the masochistic among us, this book will be a great tick list of challenges. A fun, pocket-sized book.
