What I’ve Been Reading Recently – Lucinda (Oct ’23)

Hmmm… it seems I’ve been actively armchair travelling again… all my recent reading is from outside the UK. Can’t resist a bit of French cafe culture (literally!); there’s a dystopian black comedy from New Zealand; a Russian coming of age story set in the era of perestroika that also gives a nod to Chekhov’s The Cherry Tree; some short stories out of Veracruz, that blur the edges between fact and fiction; and finally, a bit of middle Eastern history with a journalists’ eye view.
