What I’ve Been Reading Recently- Lucinda (Jun ’23)

A bit of an eclectic mix…there’s fictionalised biography about the life of an everyday Victorian strongwoman from poet and author Rebecca F John; a classic piece of Brazilian rural family saga only recently available in English; the latest in a long line of pitch perfect Parisian romance from Antoine Laurain; a stirring personal history of East Germany from the end of WWII to the dismantling of the Berlin Wall and finally, an unconventional family story from David Roberts set in 1980s Sheffield (we eavesdrop on their conversations through time) which rekindled fond memories of the lore of the Argos catalogue!
