So let’s take a look at what some of the Mr B’s gang have been reading!
First up, we’ve got Mrs B herself, Juliette! Drawn to dark tales, gritty family dramas, and ambiguous endings, it makes sense that Ju’s list features gripping thrillers and twisty mysteries across both fiction and non-fic, such as The Frozen River, The God of the Woods, The Drowning Place, and Story of a Murder, as well as family dramas from Claire Lynch, Claire Keegan, Angela Tomaski, and Jennifer Newman. But there’s also resonant memoirs, historical intrigue, speculative classics – and plenty of love for our four-legged friends!
Next up, we’ve got Sue, our cookbook expert! Beyond her culinary expertise, Sue has superb taste in fiction, and is always up to give a new writer, genre, or style a go! From literary love stories set against tsunami-torn Hawai‘i and aboard a 1980s space shuttle, speculative fiction set in Blitz-era London and a narcoleptic Northern America, and mysteries that range from the supernatural to a befeathered Eastern European noir – Sue’s list is a real mix!
