Fiction:
There are some brilliant new releases coming in March, including the much anticipated Song of the Huntress by Lucy Holland – an epic feminist fantasy that draws on the myths of ancient Britain. Mr B’s fave Carys Davies has a new historical fiction novel Clear, set on a remote Scottish Island in the 19th Century. There are also some cracking paperbacks coming out including The Book That Wouldn’t Burn by Mark Lawrence which Henry loved last year and Soldier Sailor by Claire Kilroy – masterful tale from early motherhood that will resonate with parents everywhere.
Non-Fiction:
We have a fantastic selection of non-fiction this month, a new collection from one of our most popular poets – Holly McNish. She returns with a book filled with love and humour about what the world tells us to hate. In Why Women Grow Alice Vincent shows us how a variety of both urban and rural ways gardening can create a community. The world we have built is geared towards neurotypicals and in Un-Typical we are shown what we can do to help the autistic people in our lives. We also have a moving memoir of art, grief and life- both Sam and Rohan have recently loved All The Beauty in the World.
Children’s:
Our children’s selection for March is a mixed bag, our teen offering Where Sleeping Girls Lie is a new dark academia for the ages, Nethmi is reading this and loving so far. Croaky is a warm, funny, action-packed chapter book from the author of Mr B’s fave Super Happy Magic Forest. For picture book readers we have A Good Place – a delightful new tale from bestselling Lucy Cousins with her signature bright illustrations. Nina Peanut is Amazing has been loved by our Tom M and his kids, an offbeat funny book about online fame and Nina’s smelly cat Les!
