This special hardback edition of Pascal Garnier’s “How’s the Pain?” is limited to 750 copies and is a collaboration between Mr B’s and independent publisher Gallic Books in London. It features a specially commissioned cover from artist and Garnier super-fan Stanley Donwood, who has also written an introduction for this edition.

In “How’s the Pain?”, young Bernard embarks on a life-changing road-trip across France, but his new employer, Simon, may have neglected to mention what he actually does for a living. There’s humour and tenderness mixed in with the carnage and a cast of unforgettable characters. This novella is so packed with arresting moments, subtle nuances and startling sentences – it’s impossible that anything could have been lost in translation.
