Sue was Cooking the Books with Tim Anderson live at a Bertinet Cookery School masterclass recently.
Tim’s latest book, Hokkaido, is a triumph. Filled with comforting home recipes and gorgeously illustrated, it is a cookbook to take you through the seasons.
The northernmost island of Japan, Hokkaido is famous for its exceptional produce and its distinct cuisine. With an emphasis on seafood, lamb and dairy and with potatoes and wheat predominating over rice, the gastronomy differs significantly from mainland Japan.
A huge thank-you to Bertinet Cookery School for making everyone so welcome. Highlights were the Genghis Khan lamb dish; melon cream puffs and the Japanese double cheesecake. Yum. Tim later paid a visit to Mr Bs to sign copies of his new book and to leave his pen to join those of other authors on our marvellous ceiling display.
