What I’ve Been Reading Recently – Lottie’s January 2021 List

2020 was nothing if not frustrating, and I was certainly glad to see the back of it. Unfortunately, 2021 isn’t doing a great job of being the fresh new leaf we were all planning on turning over. BUT if there’s one silver lining in a day spent in very cold flat, staring at a laptop screen, it’s that when work is done I get a lot more time to read. The glorious books I’ve engulfed in the last few months have provided some much-needed escapism. They have often flip-flopped between a comforting childrens book and a novel filled with a creeping sense of unease…you’d have thought I’d had enough of that by now.
So if you fancy dipping your toe into a new novel about a medieval global pandemic, or perhaps a cracking children’s book about a ballet school which really trains elite spies, then look no further. I feel the cross-section of those two audiences may begin and end with me, but please feel free to prove me wrong!
