‘Bearmouth’ with Liz Hyder
Wed 25 Sep 2019
6:30pm at Mr B's
Ticket includes author talk, a soft drink and 15% off books on the night.
Calling all fans of dystopian YA fiction! This September we have an event up our sleeves just for you.
Bearmouth’s main character Newt Coombes lives in a coal mine deep below the Earth’s surface, where the sun doesn’t shine and kindness is rare. That’s why he clings on to the few friends he has, those who are teaching him to read and write. But when they welcome a stranger into their group, and one who reeks of evil to Newt, he quickly becomes unsure about the only world he has ever known. Something is about to happen down in Bearmouth, and Newt is certainly not ready for the change.
Bearmouth is a story of friendship and small kindness, a story of darkness and deceit. Liz Hyder’s debut novel is bringing a fresh, astounding voice to be enjoyed by adults as well as teens, and we are so excited to welcome her to Mr B’s in September. Join us as we delve into the mines of Bearmouth!
Mr B’s recommends Bearmouth for readers of 13 years and above. Tickets are £5 including author chat and a glass of soft drink.
We warmly welcome parents to come along and browse in the rest of the shop, which will remain open throughout the event, with a 15% discount on all books for the evening.
