Mr B’s famous walking book group ‘The Paperback Ramblers’ with special guest author Nick Hunt on ‘Where the Wild Winds Are: Walking Europe’s Winds from the Pennines to Provence’
Tue 18 Sep 2018
2:00pm at TBC - please sign up to receive details before the day of the event
Nick Hunt will join the Paperback Ramblers in September, for an exhilarating windy walk across Bath’s uppermost reaches. Nick is the author of the wonderful books Walking the Woods and Water: In Patrick Leigh Fermor’s Footsteps from the Hook of Holland to the Golden Horn and Where the Wild Winds Are: Walking Europe’s Winds from the Pennines to Provence. A favourite of Mr B’s, we welcomed Nick to the shop in October 2017 to speak about the hardback release of Where the Wild Winds Are. With the paperback recently released, we decided to get him out for a hike and chat to discuss his travels and his writing.
We will be going for a walk starting at the top of Bath, taking in the sights and sounds of the beautiful countryside, and chatting about Nick’s books and whatever else takes our fancy. The walk will last around two hours, and will be moderately challenging with some hills and rough ground. There will be an opportunity to speak with the author and ask him any questions you may have, and there may even be an open-air reading of some description. There will probably be a stop in a pub too.
Please sign up for the walk and leave your e-mail address using the form. You will receive an e-mail a week or so before the event with details of the meeting point and the walk route.
To purchase your copy of Where the Wild Winds Are at a 10% discount, please use the link at the top left of the page.
This walk is in association with the Bathscape Walking Festival.
The Paperback Ramblers is a book group with a difference. Instead of meeting in a bookshop or a pub, we meet in the open air. We read anything and everything, often with a focus on setting, landscape and nature.
