Mr B’s famous walking book group ‘The Paperback Ramblers’ with special guest author Tim Dee on ‘Landfill’
Sun 14 Oct 2018
2:00pm at TBC - please sign up to receive details before the day of the event
We’re really excited to welcome Tim Dee to our October walk. Tim is a birder, a radio producer, the author of the incredible books The Running Sky and Four Fields, and editor of Ground Work: Writings on People and Places and The Poetry of Birds with Simon Armitage. During the walk he’ll be introducing us to his latest book, published by the excellent Little Toller Press, Landfill.
Landfill is a nature book about seagulls and their success story. Adrian Cooper of Little Toller Press describes Landfill as “…a nature book that doesn’t create nostalgia or eulogy for nature, but kicks beneath the littered surface to find stranger, more inspiring truths.” It seems Dee taking a step sideways, not only watching birds, but watching people watching birds, examining our fascination and disgust and co-evolution.
Please sign up to the walk using the form above to receive details about meeting point and route. These details will be e-mailed to you around a week before the date of the event.
Landfill is published on 10th September, and will be available at Mr B’s at a 10% discount.
The Paperback Ramblers is a book group with a difference. Instead of meeting in a bookshop or a pub, we meet in the open air. We read anything and everything, often with a focus on setting, landscape and nature.
