During this third lockdown, the Mr B’s bookselling team is ready and waiting (from a range of locations!) to help you get all of the books you need, or never knew you needed, even though you’re not able to visit the shop.
Here’s how to order, enquire or receive recommendations from Mr B’s without leaving your front room.
How to shop at Mr B’s when you can’t actually go and visit Mr B’s
From Tuesday 5th January, in line with Government regulations, the Mr B’ shop floor will be closed until the current lockdown rules are eased. We will update you as soon as we are able to open our doors once again.
The Mr B’s website – Always open
Our website – www.mrbsemporium.com – is open all hours. You can shop for books or vouchers on there and we can send them to your door. We will continually be adding new titles and new lists to make sure we shine a light on some of the excellent books being released in the weeks ahead.
If you’re after a particular book but you don’t see it on our website then just message us through the website or by email as we can add any title you’re after in moments.
If you need inspiration then the website is full of ideas – in the form of our themed lists and our trusty Recommendation Station. You can also opt to send yourself or anyone else one of our Surprise Reads– whereby you basically delegate all the tricky decisions to us!
If you have a Mr B’s token or a National Book Token burning a hole in your pocket, then you can use either when purchasing books through our website.
Phones and Email
You can email us at email@example.com with your enquiries, orders or to ask for any recommendations that you might need. We’re expecting high demand so forgive us if it takes us a little longer than usual to get back to your enquiry, but we will answer every email.
Our phone line (01225 331155) will be open from 9.30 – 5.30 Monday to Saturday. Again this line is likely to get busy so if it’s engaged when you call then please do leave a message and we will get back to you as soon as we can.
Shipping Books to You
However you choose to place your book order, we can ship it to you or your gift recipient – within the UK and beyond. Full details of our shipping costs for all regions are available on our website.
For this lockdown we have reduced our free postage threshold so that all orders over £30 can be posted for free.
We are currently expecting the supply chain to continue functioning broadly as normal but of course it is possible that postal and other dispatch services will be slower than usual and processing orders may take slightly longer than usual.
Reading Spa Bookings
We are in the process of contacting all customers with Reading Spa bookings between January 5th and mid-February to postpone those appointments and make new arrangements.
Our bespoke Reading Subscriptions have always been the perfect gift for book-lovers and if you’d like to give the gift of a regular hand-picked book as a lockdown boost for your book-obsessed loved ones, then look no further.
